Curbside Pickup Service at the Lester Public Library of Rome

The library will be offering curbside pickup per the Governor’s Safe at Home order, but with certain limitations. Because of these limitations, it will take some time to meet demand. We thank you for your patience as we move forward with this process.

To support social distancing efforts, the library is operating with very limited staff. The staff will fill your holds placed as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience.

At the moment, van delivery amongst the libraries is suspended and may only be running on a very limited basis in the near future. You can search the catalog for Rome items at Please make sure you pick Lester Library of Rome as your “home” library.

  • Pickups MUST be scheduled.
  • No library staff/patron face to face interaction
  • Requests can be made by accessing LinkCat, phone or email at rdaley@romepubliclibrary.or
  • A maximum number of 3 items may be checked out on each library card. This may change in the future.

Pickup Times

Pickup times will be scheduled every 15 minutes. If you miss your scheduled pickup time, your items will be removed from your account and returned to the shelf. Materials will be checked out to the patron account prior to pickup. At your scheduled time, patrons will walk to the library’s front glass doors and will be asked to show id/library card. Library staff will verify patron and then place materials on a table outside of the door for patrons to pick up. Weather will play a factor in offering curbside pickup. If it is raining or inclement weather, we will suspend the service.

  • Tuesdays – 10am-3pm
  • Wednesdays – 12pm-5pm
  • Thursdays – 10am-3pm

Please do not attempt to use curbside pickup to return materials. The library bookdrop is closed and no items are to be returned at this time. Due dates will automatically be extended, and Rome is a fine free library. The Lester Public of Rome remains closed to the public. The lobby, restrooms, computers, and others spaces will not be accessible.
