The Town of Rome is accepting Committee Membership applications to fill positions on the newly created Restrictions on Dead Timber and Brush Task Force.
Task Force membership would include:
- Lake Camelot Association Representative (1)
- Lake Sherwood Association Representative (1)
- Lake Arrowhead Association Representative (1)
- Property Owner At-Large Representatives (2) – must reside outside of the above-mentioned property owners’ associations
The Task Force will review the current Chapter 287, Article III Restrictions on Dead Timber and Brush ordinance and develop overarching goals on what the ordinance should be, determine revisions to the ordinance with property values/public safety in mind, and a plan to communicate ordinance changes to the community.
Participation in the Task Force would be voluntary and require a couple hours per week time commitment. The Task Force would end once objectives are achieved, it would not be an ongoing committee. An estimated timeline would be to have draft objectives to the Town Board for review and consideration this summer.
CitizenCommittee Membership applications are available on the Town’s website at www.romewi.com, under Departments, and Administration/Human Resources or can be picked up in the vestibule at the Rome Town Hall, 1156 Alpine Drive, Nekoosa. The application deadline is extended to Thursday, June 10, 2021.
